Thank you to those who made it to book club! The plethora of cheese was amazing, not to mention the lychee martinis made by Julia (we may have to have those again). We have agreed to continue to pull our books together for the St. Kitt's Book Club. The goal is to have multiple copies of books so that they can also meet as a group, but they are willing to take single donations too.
So far we have (of books we've read):
2- To Kill a Mockingbird
2- Historian
3- One Good Turn
1- Pride and Prejudice
1- Love in the Time of Cholera
2 (or 3)- Rebecca
1- A Piece of Cake (early book club book)
There may have been a few more but I'm writing it off the top of my head! Also, we have single non-book club books like Japanland, Little Earthquakes, Marley and Me, Snow Falling on Cedars... and others in case you happen to have a copy and would like to throw it in.
At our next meeting, please bring your books that you want to donate. If you can get me some of these before then, I would like to at least send her one batch of books to get started.
As mentioned before, we will be reading House of the Spirits by Isabel Allende... this means Mariela has to read the book AND come to the meeting since she's been advocating for this book for ummm three years now. ;) (Forgive me for calling you out! I'm there with you though...)
Not that I want to encourage not reading the book, but the movie is awesome... all-star cast...
Next meeting will be on Thursday March 12th at Shannon's place in University Heights... happy hour at Lei Lounge anyone?
